Visualizing Tau-Driven Microtubule Breakdown in Alzheimer’s Disease
A procedural 3D visualization showing how tau dysfunction can destabilize microtubules and disrupt neuronal transport.
This project combines neuroscience research, scientific visualization, and procedural 3D production to illustrate how tau dysfunction may contribute to the breakdown of microtubules inside neurons.
I developed the visualization using Python and OpenUSD, created and animated the biological structures in Blender, assembled the final scenes in NVIDIA Omniverse, and completed the film in Adobe Premiere Pro.
The project connects my background in psychology and neuroscience with my growing specialization in OpenUSD pipelines, 3D simulation, and technical visual storytelling.
My Role
I researched the neuroscience, modeled and animated the cellular structures, developed the OpenUSD scene architecture, created procedural neuron-generation tools in Python, assembled the scene in NVIDIA Omniverse, and edited the final educational film.
